Skullgirls PC Beta Is Now Online
As a little 4th of July present, Lab Zero has announced that Skullgirls Beta for the PC is now online and gamers can register to try out the beta version. Players who contributed $36 or more towards the Skullgirls IndieGoGo campaign will receive the beta version for free, and the beta key will be included in their Humble Bundle page. The key can be directly inserted into the player’s Steam account, after which the game will download. However, if interested players missed out on the opportunity on contribute towards the campaign’s development; they can purchase the game for $36 via Lab Zero’s official store.
However, for those who pre-ordered the game through retailers like Gamersgate, Lab Zero has announced that a separate beta code will also be provided, ensuring that everyone will get a taste of Skullgirls. Skullgirl’s IndieGoGo campaign was one of the most successful crowd funding services in gaming history. Lab Zero initially asked the gaming community to donate a minimum of $150,000 to develop a single new DLC character. Astoundingly, more than $800,000 was received in donations from the community, as Lab Zero has revealed that the team can now create an additional 5 DLC characters. The initial sum was raised within the first 22 hours after the launch of the campaign.
The first DLC character will be Squigly, which will be released along with the game while the remaining four DLC characters will be released in subsequent months, free of cost, of course. The beta will be online until next month, while the game is set to release sometime soon (no definite deadline has been given by Lab Zero).
